Scottie is the President of Northpoint Insurance Advisors and works with new and established business owners to identify insurance solutions and risk management strategies that help protect what they’ve worked so hard to build.
With local roots, Scottie grew up in Draper, VA and holds an Electrical Engineering degree from Virginia Tech. Prior to purchasing Northpoint Insurance Advisors in 2017 (previously Carper Insurance), he worked in the high-tech industry with a Fortune 100 company and has experience dealing with a wide array of industries, including electricians, HVAC, production / manufacturing environments, and research and development centers.
Scottie is a RamseyTrusted Pro, a designation that reflects his long-standing commitment to helping individuals and families make informed, confident financial decisions. At his core, Scottie believes his role is to be a teacher and trusted advisor, providing guidance and support every step of the way.
Staying engaged in the local community is very important to Scottie! He supports local businesses with the Chamber of Commerce. He previously served as the Chairman of the Board for Pregnancy Resource Center – New River Valley which is a non-profit medical clinic for those facing unplanned pregnancy. He is also active in his church in Blacksburg.
Scottie currently lives in Blacksburg VA with his wife, Billie, and three children. Occasionally you’ll find him on the golf course playing in fund raisers for the local non-profit organizations. His golf game isn’t what it used to be!
