Northpoint Insurance Advisors is honored to be named the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce’s 2025 Business of the Year. Tullio O’Reilly also recognized as 2025 Community Service Individual!
This recognition reflects our long-standing commitment to serving the New River Valley with integrity, expertise, and genuine community care. Even more importantly, it celebrates the trust, confidence, and kindness this region has shown our team over the years — and for that, we are deeply grateful.
“This award means more to us than recognition — it’s a reflection of the relationships we’ve built and the supportive community we are proud to call home,” said Scottie Wyatt, President of Northpoint Insurance Advisors. “We love this region, we believe in its future, and we’re proud to serve the people who make it such a special place.”
As we reflect on the significance of this honor, we can’t help but think about the many moments — and the many people — who brought us to this milestone.

Rooted in This Community
Originally founded in Blacksburg as Carper Insurance, our agency has been serving the region for more than 45 years. In 2017 Scottie Wyatt purchased the agency from founder Dan Carper, continuing a tradition built on excellent customer service, community connection, and a commitment to giving back.
Northpoint remains a family-owned, locally operated insurance agency dedicated to protecting what matters most to individuals, families, and businesses across Southwest Virginia.
Our philosophy is simple: deliver the protection you need from people you know.
From home and auto coverage to life, business, and specialized risk solutions, our team brings more than 100 years of combined experience to every conversation. This award underscores that it isn’t just about what you do — but how you do it — that resonates with people. Our focus is, and has always been, on relationships.
A Commitment to People — Not Just Policies
Northpoint serves thousands of customers across the New River and Roanoke Valleys, and every interaction is an opportunity to build trust, offer guidance, and be a steady resource in moments that matter.
We see ourselves as advisors and educators just as much as insurance professionals — helping clients navigate decisions with clarity, confidence, and genuine care. That’s why you’ll see us speaking at workshops or see Scottie on the news as a subject matter expert. We want our region to be informed, empowered, and equipped to choose the coverage that truly meets their needs.
Community Service & Another Award!
Our recognition as Business of the Year is especially meaningful because it highlights something at the heart of who we are: our dedication to community. This also resulted in another award for one of our team members: Tullio O’Reilly was recognized as the 2025 Community Service Individual. It was one night with two incredible awards for our team!

Under Tullio’s leadership, who guides our outreach across the communities we serve, Northpoint has built deep partnerships with organizations including Valley Women’s Clinic, Young Life NRV, the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce, NRV Home Builders Association, NRV Association of Realtors, and Onward NRV.
In recent years, Tullio and our team have expanded these efforts, participating in more than 15 community initiatives annually — from food, coat, and blood drives to school sponsorships, golf tournaments, walk-a-thons, and holiday support for local families. We were proud to recently sponsor Agape Center of the NRV as they expanded their space, and you’ll often find team members rolling up their sleeves to serve at Feeding Southwest Virginia.
His heart for service is inspiring others to do the same, which is the sign of a true servant leader. By the end of 2025, Northpoint will have contributed more than 400 hours of employee volunteer time and significant financial support across the region. Every employee is encouraged to serve during company time — reinforcing our shared belief that strong communities create strong futures for all.
Tullio is a well-known and well-loved member of this community! He invests his time, energy, and big heart into making the lives of others healthier, happier, and more meaningful. We can think of no one more deserving of this recognition and are so grateful the Chamber made this selection!

Honored, Grateful, and Inspired
Being named Business of the Year and Tullio’s award as Community Service Individual are both tremendous honors. We see these awards as fuel for what comes next. They only galvanize our existing commitment to serve this region with excellence, care, serve, and heart. As our presence in the region grows, our focus remains the same: to be a trusted neighbor, a reliable advisor, and a business that gives back far more than it receives.
